The sea was rather vigorous and the weather wasn’t the greatest when we started out, drizzly and chilly, but the weather forecast said it wasn’t going to last and it would be better later . . . Yeah, we took a little wrong turn, ergo the dogleg at the top. I think the footpath sign was either missing or covered over by the hedgerow. The walk out of Bickleigh was fairly easy alongside the River Dart . . . This was a painting of a painting from the book 30 Minute Pastels by Margaret Evans. And i’m rather pleased with how it all turned out. Looking at it compared to the original, my colour mixing still needs a lot more work, but i’m still rather pleased with how it all turned out. Still plenty of learning going on. Thoughts: I was very anxious starting this as it’s the first time ever that i’ve used watercolours and i really liked my ink drawing and didn’t want to mess it up. Thoughts: While wandering through Teoh Yi Chie’s channel on Youtube i found “Sketching the Waag at Nieuwmarkt square (timelapse tutorial)”. Fun things to do while under house arrest. By doing this one can learn many things: it’s not just about the colours, but also the relative strengths of the pigments within each colour. Plan: I bought this pen in grey as i was hoping to use it to do shading on my ink drawings. The plan here was to have a quick, first go with this brush pen on a bit of crappy paper that was laying on my coffee table, but i got a bit carried away. Materials: Conté Ã Paris Black B crayon, Pierre Noire H and Blanc 630 on Pink Pig Sketch Book 150gsm white mixed media cartridge. Thoughts: first drawing using my Cretacolor Ecologic — and also this lead. Thoughts: i need to sort my light bulb out as the paper is the Toned Gray and looks like Toned Tan in the photo. Thoughts: first time playing with Conté crayon, ever, and i really like it. Going to buy lots of them and see what may happen.
that no one can hear the whispers
they’ve lit the world so bright
that no one can see in the dark
they’ve told so many lies
that no one knows the truth now
they’ve ruined all of nature
